Personal website
A personal website with a resume is a modern trend that creatively enhances the traditional job application and makes one stand out positively from the crowd. Moreover, a prospective employee can use it to perfectly complete his or her profile. However, in order to fully utilize the potential of a personal website, it must be properly formatted. A poorly designed website can even lead to a decrease in the chances of getting a job.
When creating a personal website you can create a space in which, in addition to your resume, you can include work samples, references, videos or materials you have created. Your online presence is intended to increase the chances of being approached by potential clients, to optimize the job search process, and it acts as a website where you can create a comprehensive profile and “sell” yourself in the best possible way.
The advantages are many. It is a modern, creative and unconventional way of presenting oneself in the workplace. Especially for some professions or for freelancers, it can work very positively, bringing many new contacts, or even leading to the creation of our personal network.

Linkedin/Xing
Do you need a profile on Linkedin and Xing platforms? These are two platforms that help us to build our personal network, depending on our career. Both platforms are used for professional purposes. Whether self-employed, freelancers or employees, professionals from different sectors exchange information through Xing and LinkedIn. Through your own Xing or LinkedIn profile, you can search and find jobs, exchange experiences, make contacts or even look for partners. Both platforms have been around for almost two decades and now have several million registered users.
A Xing profile is the right choice for you if you want to build a network mainly in German-speaking countries and have headhunters find you through this platform. If you want to create an international network or if you are interested in a job abroad (e.g. after studying abroad), you should create a LinkedIn profile. There are more than 700 million active members from different countries on this platform. As a general rule, internationally active companies are more likely to be represented on LinkedIn. In contrast, small and medium-sized companies are more likely to be found on Xing. For a headhunter to find you on LinkedIn or Xing, you need to think about where your employer of choice is most likely to be found.
